What Is Survey Junkie?

As I said, Survey Junkie is a survey community. They reward consumers for helping brands and companies shape their products and services. Most people love the idea of Survey Monkey (a site where you can create your own surveys), but they want to make sure it’s legit or safe to use.

They also want to know how ‘worth-it’ it is, in terms of what they pay.

Is Survey Junkie Legit?

Let’s get one thing out of the way.

Yes, Survey Junkie is legit.

Yes, you do get paid in real money.

Survey Junkie is a market research company that needs consumer opinions. And, they are willing to pay for them in order to make important decisions about their client brands.

This online survey app rewards you in points that you can redeem for Paypal cash or gift cards to various retailers.

Is Survey Junkie Safe To Use?

The Survey Junkie app naturally asks you for lots of information – some personal information is required to join a panel. In some circumstances, you may be asked to give more sensitive information for the purposes of more relevant targeted surveys. This information is all voluntary and Survey Junkie is relatively trustworthy.

Survey Junkie does use cookies: some that expire when you close your browser and persistent cookies which remain until deleted. These cookies are information packets and are not harmful to your computer, but they do collect information. If you don’t want this, you can delete those cookies.

Survey Junkie does have an SSL certificate, which means the website is safe.

How Much Can You Earn Using The Survey Junkie App?

Now that we’ve established if Survey Junkie is legit, let’s talk about how you can legitimize yourself.

Survey Junkie pays out over $40,000 daily, but what does that mean for you? It all depends on the surveys you take.

There are a few things to keep in mind in terms of how Survey Junkie pays.

  • To start, surveys can make you between $0.50 and $3 a pop. The more surveys you do, the more money you will earn. And obviously, some surveys yield better pay than others.
  • Now, for the catch. You can’t just take every survey and run through it to just collect the money. For surveys to be informative and useful to the company, they need to be targeted. You have better opportunities with a more detailed profile.
  • The other thing you have to pay attention to is your own credibility. Make sure you take the recommended length of time per questionnaire, or you could get flagged.

In theory, there are unlimited survey opportunities. But, you need to take these things into account, which can slow down your rate earnings.

When you earn money through Survey Junkie, you accrue points that are redeemable through Paypal or bank transfer. There are also a variety of gift card options, including Walmart, Amazon, iTunes, or Visa.

How To Start Making Money With Online Surveys Using The Survey Junkie App

If you feel like this online survey app is for you, let’s walk through where and how to make an account.

Signing up for Survey Junkie is really easy! All you need is:

  1. Facebook account
  2. Google account
  3. Email address

When you are ready to sign up, just sign in using one of those three identifiers.

Once you sign in, you can set up your profile and start taking surveys anytime you want. You can take surveys on any device you own, wherever you are. Do as many surveys as you want to and keep earning cash or gift cards for your insights!

There is another community on Survey Junkie called Pulse. The SJ Pulse program allows you to make money passively by letting Survey Junkie see your browsing habits.

Here is a quick look at the two money-making options…

Survey Junkie allows you to earn money by providing your insights to companies through DISQO, a market research company. You set up a profile that impacts your earnings for surveys based on your personal assessment of your own behavior.

The more specific you are, the more specific and potentially rewarding your survey opportunities become. If you give less information, you earn less on surveys because your contributions are less reliable.

Although you give a lot of information about your shopping habits and interests, all information is de-identified. This keeps your identity separate from the information you share!

Take surveys, get paid!

SJ Pulse Program

Pulse is a downloadable app that automatically shares insights with DISQO about what you search online. Like what websites you visit, what ads you see, what apps you use, and what products you buy. This option allows you to share more reliable information about your consumer habits automatically.

If you are comfortable with this, this allows you to earn money without doing anything, but your earnings do depend on your level of online activity.

The information you share passively through Pulse is also de-identified to protect your privacy.

Survey Junkie App: My Honest Review!

My approach to Survey Junkie was to question if it’s worth it. I was uncertain about giving so much personal information and what they would do with it. I also maintained a certain level of skepticism about how much money I could actually make.

Although the amount you make per survey is generally $3 or less, there is the promise of unlimited surveys. Therefore, I wanted to know if this could be like a part-time job. Or, was it just a way to pick up spare change on the weekend?

Although I think it’s different for everybody, my experience was somewhere in the middle.

Security

First of all, let’s address personal information, knowing that Survey Junkie is a trustworthy brand.

Your information is secure; however, there is still reason to be cautious about what that security actually means. On the other hand, the premise of taking money for personal insights and opinions requires a certain amount of candor.

Once I was sufficiently convinced of the need for the information that Survey Junkie requested, I was reasonably assured. I felt confident my information would not be mismanaged or used to betray my privacy.

Note: If you do have a concern or privacy request, you can submit this form.

Is It Worth My Time?

Survey Junkie is made for people who love to share, especially people who do a lot of shopping. In that sense, I place it more in the rebate category than in the earning money category. You get money back based on your consumer history.

Indirectly, that means the more you buy, the more you can make on surveys.

It’s an important distinction for me because Survey Junkie is not a replacement for adopting positive spending habits or working on your budget.

Since earnings are specifically tied to your consumer activity, the less you spend, the less your time is worth.

Survey Junkie specifically rewards you for being a consumer. They learn from your habits to make companies more effective at selling their products or services. Having said that, it is still a legitimate way of making a little bit of money on the side.

I love to share my opinion, so I really enjoyed the surveys I took! It felt like easy money, but you don’t want to quit your day job to take surveys full time.

Getting Paid

Finally, when it comes to getting paid, I found redeeming my points to be very easy. I also found it helpful to know upfront how much time each survey would take.

That way, I could maximize my earnings for the amount of time I had to take the surveys!
