Eat At Home Challenge by InspiredBudget.com

The other week I jumped on Instagram and made a huge confession. You see, our family is gearing up for a big move. We’ve sold our house and are heading 5 hours south to be closer to family. During this crazy time of our lives, I’ve seriously dropped the ball. Actually, I let the ball crash on the ground and it shattered into a thousand pieces. I feel like we’ve been seriously overspending and night after night we’ve picked up dinner instead of cooking at home.

I know that you might struggle with meal planning too! In fact, food is usually the category that people struggle with the most. I mean, I completely get it. I’d much rather run by Chick-fil-a or Chipotle after a long day of work. The last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen and make dinner that someone later says “tastes funny” or refuses to eat.

It’s frustrating and flat out exhausting. But you know what else it is? It’s incredibly EXPENSIVE! I’ve lived the life of going out to eat nightly. It’s not cheap! And I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather eat at home and save money for a nice Caribbean vacation than go out to eat night after night!

5 Day Eat At Home Challenge

To help kickstart better dinner habits, I’ve challenged myself to eat at home for 5 days straight. That’s right! Monday through Friday of next week I’m cooking at home and we aren’t going out. We need a hard reset and my budget needs a break. I can’t believe that I’m actually looking forward to this challenge!

But here’s the thing…I’m tired of the same old recipes that I eat week in and week out. And with all the packing and unpacking we’ve got going on, I just don’t have time to search through Pinterest looking for easy or healthy dinner ideas. (I also just flat out don’t feel like doing it, if I’m being completely honest). In fact, I want the meal planning done FOR ME. Kind of like an assistant that plans everything for me and I just implement it. And guess what! I found just that!

Easy Meals To Make At Home

I’m crazy excited because I’ll be using Eat At Home Meal Plans to help make this challenge easy and DOABLE! Here’s how Eat At Home Meal Plans work:

  1.  Choose your meal plan. They have 4 meal plans to choose from: No Flour/No Sugar Meal Plan, Slow Cooker/Instant Pot Meal Plan, Traditional Meal Plan, and Wholesome Traditional Meal Plan.
  2. Select your week. Each meal plan has 4 weeks to choose from. Choose any week you like (they won’t repeat any meals!).
  3. Select your serving size. They have sizes for 3-4 people or 6-8 people!

Once you choose your meal plan, you’ll be able to print out your entire grocery list and the recipes for each dinner. You know what I might even do? I might even take my grocery list and just order my groceries through Kroger Clicklist or the Walmart Grocery Pickup! That way I don’t have to even step foot in the store!

Eat At Home Meal Plans: Is it worth it?

I’d love for you to use the same meal plan that I’m using! But you might be thinking “Okay, Allison. This sounds good, but is it really worth it?” Now, this is where my math brain and budgeting side get excited…because this is actually a GREAT deal! The best deal is the yearly plan which comes out to only $7 each month. That’s literally the cost of a venti Starbucks drink or one meal at Chick-fil-a. You can get an entire month of meals for only $7!

I don’t know about you, but $7 is worth just the time that I would normally spend meal planning and searching endlessly for recipes. I’d much rather spend $7 on my little meal planning assistant and snuggle a little extra longer with my kids each Saturday morning.

And don’t even get me started on how much money you are going to SAVE each month because you’ll be eating at home! I can promise you that you’ll save so much money by using these plans.
